Jan Rot - You don't have to tell me how I got to play the blues lyrics

Your rating:

On sunday afternoons I'm used to play the piano
in a pub down the cheaper side of town
I'm used to ratata everybody's ass off
I have some hardcore-fans I never let them down,
oh no, well well well
you don't have to tell me how I gotta play the blues!

Now yesterday somebody from the audience was shouting:
"Come over here boy, the drink is on me!"
he said to me: "Guy, you're a wonderful rocker
but you 'd better leave that blues-stuff to someone like me

Now I got mad and went back to my piano
and played the blues just like I can do
and while my piano was terribly weeping
I turned over to him and said: "hey you, oh nananow
you don't have to tell me how I gotta play the blues!

Believe it or not, this guy was a sucker
he said: "that's no blues, that's boogie, dear mate"
I said: "Well, we've just gone out of the forties
I speed it up man, that's my trade!"

He said: "Kid, you must be a fan of John Mayall's"
That was too much for me and I shot him down
I laid his dead body over my piano
and when I played on I was looking around and said:
"hey, dear audience, this is a warning:
you don't have to tell me how I gotta play the blues!
