His rise to fame has been quick. After he performed Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" on April 2010 at a sixth-grade music festival, he became very famous on YouTube, gaining over 40 million views. Then, he gained over 5 and 7 million views respectively on his YouTube channel with two of his original compositions, "Stars" and "Broken Hearts" thanks to which he received a $10,000.00 award after winning Ellen's Wonderful Web of Wonderment contest, a brand new Yamaha piano, and was announced as DeGeneres's first signed artist to her new recording label.

Furthermore, as a rising star always needs a debut single to officially enter the music industry, Chance released pretty quick his own debut single, "Waiting Outside the Lines", in October 2010. But Chance could no longer be stopped and he released a new single, "Unfriend You". And if you think he's too young to hit the road, you are totally wrong. He went on tour ? the Waiting 4U Tour ? that lasted from April 9 to May 18, 2011 with Australian pop/R&B singer Cody Simpson.

Moreover, to prove his unstoppable force, Chance released his debut album, Hold On 'Til The Night, an album that smoothly combines a bit of Brit pop (à la Coldplay), a bit of vintage pop-rock and a bit of confessional pop (in the style of Taylor Swift). "I'm very excited for the fans to hear 'Take a Look at Me Now,' and this song is just so important to me because it was basically when I was writing the song, I was basically thinking, 'I am screaming this out to all those people who doubted me,' " the young star said. "It's one of those types of inspirational songs that I get my inspiration from."
And as if this was not enough to prove his talent, Chance has big plans from now on. He will turn 14 this summer and he intends to make his acting debut on the small-screen. "It's a very exciting time to be me," he said, laughing, while opening up to MTV. "I'm so excited for the record. For my birthday, I'm actually going to be filming 'Raising Hope.' I'm going to be guest-starring on that TV show, and I'm very excited for it."
