Frank Sinatra
Frank Sinatra - Killing me softly lyrics
About this lyric:
Killing me Softly” was originally recorded by Lori Lieberman, and ““he” was Don MacLean, and ”his song” was “American Pie”.
Roberta Flack covered it in 1973, and that’s the version everyone remembers. It became a monster hit, and was EVERYWHERE!
Perry Como did cover the song as well.
If you go on Youtube and say, but here’s Frank Sinatra doing it, if you listen to the voice you will know that’s not Sinatra, and the comments bear that out. It was really Perry Como. Either someone couldn’t tell the difference between the two voices or mistakenly put Sinatra’s pic when he meant to put Como’s.
Either way, Sinatra never covered the song. But he did sing a song called ““Softly as I Kill You”. That causes a lot of confusion.
I heard she sang a good song, I heard she had a style and so I came to see her and listen for a while. And there she was this young girl, a stranger to my eyes. Strumming my pain with her fingers, Singing my life with her words, Killing me softly with her song, Killing me softly with her song, Telling my whole life with her words, Killing me softly with her song I felt all flushed with fever, embarrassed by the crowd, I felt she found my letters and read each one out loud. I prayed that she would finish but she just kept right on. Strumming my pain with her fingers, Singing my life with her words, Killing me softly with her song, Killing me softly with her song, Telling my whole life with her words, Killing me softly with her song She sang as if she knew me in all my dark despair And then she looked right through me, as if I wasn't there. But she was there this stranger, singing clear and strong. Strumming my pain with her fingers, Singing my life with her words, Killing me softly with her song, Killing me softly with her song, Telling my whole life with her words, Killing me softly with her song Killing me softly with her song

I'm sure you well know, this is not Sinatra -why don't you correct it?

This is not Sinatra, he is "the voice", but not this voice. This version is of Perry Como. Authors are Charles Fox y Norman Gimbel. First worldwide known version is of Roberta Flack
