This is probably my all time favorite Elvis performed tune. I saw this
originally on an unedited 'One Night With You' video tape. This is the
show where they are all in a circle and Elvis is wearing black leather. I
got one of the verses from a Sun Sessions collections as he skipped it on
the video tape. If you've seen this tune performed on this video then you
know why Elvis is the King!!! I put this down without my guitar in my hand
but I think I've got it. If not listen to it and that will clear things
up. Better yet, get a copy of that video!!!

E
I've been travlin over mountains

Even through the valley's too
Tacet A
I've been travlin night and day
                          B7
I've been runnin all the way
                      E
Baby, tryin to get to you

Ever since I read your letter
Where you said you loved me true
I've been travlin night and day
I've been runnin all the way
Baby, tryin to get to you

E7 A
When I read your lovin letter
                       E
Then my heart began to sing
                      A
There were many miles between us
                       B7 Tacet
But they didn't mean a thing.

I just had to reach you baby
In spite of all you put me through
I've been travlin night and day
I've been runnin all the way
Baby, tryin to get to you

If I had to do it over
That's exactly what I'd do
And I'd travel night and day
And I'd still run all the way
Baby tryin to get to you

E7 A
Well there's nothin that could hold me here
                                E
Or that could keep me away from you
                       A
When your lovin letter told me
                         B7
That you really loved me true.

Lord above he knows I love you
It was he who brought me through
When my way was dark as night
It would shine as bright as light
When I was tryin to get to you.
