Wilfried Vanslembrouck had nog deze info over dit lied:

Edith Piaf nam het op voor Carnegie Hall 13 january 1957. Ze deed het op verzoek van President Eisenhouwer. Alhoewel het chanson eerst aan Piaf voorgesteld is gag ze het aan Yves Montand die er een wereldhit van maakte. Alvorens het chanson zelf op te nemen heeft ze Yves montand toestemming gevraagd.
