But what I saw today

On the wedding page

Was more than I could stand

All I could do was stare

At you pictured there

You were a lovely sight

All dressed up in white

With flowers in your hair



It should have been me

Wearin' tux and tails

But I never got my initation in the mail

The least you could have done

Was to have me by your side

'Cause I was the one

That gave away the bride



Well I'll bet your dad was proud

When he walked you through the crowd

Walking down the aisle

With his only child

To hear her wedding vows

And when the preacher said

Who gives you to be wed

Did your dad say there were three

Or did he forget me

Like I guess you did



And it should have been me
