Why do we make Christmas festive?

We work awfully hard to decorate.

We're already busy with our daily lives,

But we shop, write out cards, bake apple pies.



Parties, lights and singing,

There's hardly a moment to spare.

Sometimes we say that we'll cut back,

But this season shows that we care.



Deck the Halls with boughs of holly,

Fa-la-la-la-la—la-la-la-la!

Tis the season to be jolly,

Fa-la-la-la-la—la-la-la-la!



It's such fun to put the tree up,

Accent our home with scented candlelight.

Family time, Christmas movies, they're special to me,

I enjoy winter time, favorite things to see:



Walking in the moonlight,

Sidewalks glisten with snow;

Icicles hanging from housetops,

Winter plows clearing the road.



Something to celebrate,

Something so dear,

Make the season special,

The best time of the year!

Deck the halls with promise

For hope and better lives,

Jesus is still the answer,

Worthy of our sacrifice.



I love hearing carols playing

In stores, outlets, malls, and restaurants.

Many are cheerful, and walk happily

As they hear silver bells ringing merrily!



Many put themselves last

To give some gifts away,

A time to show our thankfulness

To those who love us each day.



Jesus showed love so special,

To leave His home in Heav'n;

He sacrificed his own life,

To save sinful men.



Something to celebrate,

Something so dear,

Make the season special,

The best time of the year!
