Hey buddy how’s it going man well it’s been too long

I hear you changed your wife, your life, your car tell me what went wrong

Well I’ve always been the same but this is all I've dreamed

I got a four-bedroom house, a wife, and two kids, sitting on the edge of town

When we were young you would always say were gonna bust out of here someday

Out of this small town 

Out of this loser’s town out of this place that I now call my home 

Out of this small town off of this barren ground hey man don’t you remember this is your hometown too?



Is your name still big uptown, there’s always second time round 

I hear your leaving state hey but wait you know; NY’s always been your goal

You’d take the place by storm leave it wasted and torn

So things didn’t work out there’s no need to shout I see you’ve lost your sense of fun

Well I work town at the plant to make my money do all I can 

I’ll do any thing  I have to hey man what do you do to just get by

Well my kids are growing up strong they know what’s right they know what’s wrong 

While the others run the street across the tracks our are always home
