About this Album:
This album displays truly incredible musical talent. Be it either Tom's awesome riffs and effects-enriched solos, Tim's blazing basslines, Brad's amazing drumlines, or Chris's outstanding vocals to prove it. This album exceeds Audioslave's debut because they worked on this CD as a band. Former Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, and Tim Commerford came up with most of the songs instrumental parts before Chris Cornell (Ex. Soundgarden member) joined the band. This caused the debut to have a Rage Against the Machine kind of aspect. Chris's vocals matched the sound perfectly, but the debut had a little too much muscle. This album, is perfect all-around. The songs are:Your Time Has Come - 9/10: An Excellent opener. The main riff is the only problem for it is the almost exact same riff as Metallica's Bad Seed. I still love the song though. Tom also pulls some Van Halen like guitar licks in the solo.Out of Exile - 8.5/10: An awesome title track. The drumline to the intro is really cool and the solo is one of my favorites on the album.Be Yourself - 9.5/10: It was around midnight early last year and I was eagerly listening to the radio. The announcer had just said "Comin' up right after this is a new Audioslave song!" I was extremely excited and once I heard it, it blew me away. Amazing song. It carries a very important message as well. "To be yourself is all that you can do." I couldn't have said it better myself.Doesn't Remind Me - 10/10: Now this is one of the jackpots of the album. Simply wicked solo by Morello; my favorite solo on the album. My second favorite song on the album as well.Drown Me Slowly - 8.5/10: A good song. The solo is really cool because Tom Morello makes his guitar sound like turn tables.Heaven's Dead - 10/10: Now this is a good song. My third favorite on the album with a really catchy chorus. The Worm - 9/10: I love the intro riff to this one. Chris also has awesome vocals in this song.Man or Animal - 8.5: A wicked song. I love the intro riff, but the lyrics kind of confuse me.Yesterday To Tomorrow - 9.5/10: Another awesome song. This one's probably my fourth favorite. Dandelion - 9.5/10: Another Excellent song with a very catchy chorus.#1 Zero - 11/10: The best song on the album! I love the bluesy intro riff. Chris also has a hint of Soundgarden in his voice. Good stuff. And Tom pulls an awesome solo. The Curse - 8.5/10: A great closer track to a superb album. Another catchy chorus as well.Overall, when it comes to music of the 21st Century, Audioslave reigns all. This album is DEFINETLY worth the money!
