(verse)
Your beauty took my breath away,
in awe all day
your company was so relaxing,
easy going ways
we saw the first signs of summer and
springtime change
walking barefoot across the sand
i hadnt planned to stay

(chorus)
yeah we've been walking barefoot
all summer
it'll be sad my friend
to see it come to an end
why cant we just quit

(solo) x 2

d#
you are broke all summer
         c# f#

d#
dont need money when it's sunny
           c# f#
dont need anything
            b
just need music and sun and laughter
           c# f#
and no currency
b
the sun on your bare shoulders,
          c# f#
it somes for free

yeah we've been walking barefoot
     b f#
all summer

d#
sand ran through my fingers
         g# f#
and the land was hot
d#
anointed by apollo
         g# f#
and his chariot
b
disarmed by your charm,
                  c# f#
that night i felt again

we take life slow
      b
and when the night has fallen
                f
our cup overflows

when the summer's gone

and the room is cold

when you're looking at the rain

and it just wont go
b
remember when the sun was high,
   c# f#
up above

remember when the days were long

all summer

why cant we just quit
c#
yeah we've been walking barefoot
    b f#
all summer
g# a# b

why cant we just quit

(solo) x 4 ending with an f#

*note* bridge f# are played from 2nd fret.

This is the first track on the Free All Angels album, it is a fantastic song which deserves to be released as a single.
It sounds as though it may be recorded with guitars detuned 1/2 a step, but this is how i play without detuning.

"LAST NIGHT JACKIE CHAN CAME ROUND, I PLAYED POOL WITH HIM AND WE HUNG OUT."
