About this Album:
I've been hearing good things about this band for a while now, so I finally decided to buy the album. I think it's a pretty solid album; its no-nonsense black metal with a contempory edge. Probably a better sound than what I was initially expecting to be honest, (especially from a British Black metal band!) They perform catchy, raw, aggressive black metal mostly around fast-pace tempos, which give it an old school vibe that reminisces of times when bands like Celtic Frost and Dark Funeral were at the forefront of the BM scene.
This album is not overly produced; however I wouldn?t regard it as poor production. Although if I have to make one critical point with this album, I feel the guitars are too clean and lack the distorted raw sound that the dry, harsh vocals cry out for. With that said though, the guitar sound does give it an unsympathetic almost melodic sound that does seem to work. Artisian have managed to create a strong, appealing, minimalistic album that promises some raw, intriguing and epic sounding music.
My advice to you: If you like raw, fast-past black metal with a harsh edge, give Artisian?s ?Lament for the Eternal Frost? a listen.
Stand out tracks: Orgy Of The Souls Of Darkness & Chronicles Of Antonius Block

this is old school black metal, straight forward, no messing around with keyboards, and also its is the bands own version, not compied like so many other bands, that copy the legends, yes you can here the dark throne etc influences, but this album s fresh and new, the newer albums form the band show a development technicaly and more towards death metal, but still with a cold balck metal influence and root
