About this lyric:

It's My Party by Amy Winehouse, Music Lyrics and Video

Amy Winehouse covered It's My Party, a song most famously sung by American singer Lesley Gore in 1963. The new song is taken from Quincy Jones' new album "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra" and it's Amy Winehouse's first new recording in four years.

Produced by Winehouse's collaborator Mark Ronson, "It's My Party" is the U.K. singer/songwriter's first studio recording since her 2006 breakthrough album "Back to Black," which won five Grammy awards in 2008.

The original "It's My Party," which was produced by Quincy Jones, spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963.

"Q: Soul Bossa Nostra," out next Tuesday (Nov. 9), also features appearances by Mary J. Blige, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Wyclef Jean and Ludacris, among others.

It’s my party, I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you

Nobody knows where my Johnny has gone (Johnny has gone)
But Judy left the same time
Why was he holding her hand
When he’s supposed to be mine

Ooh, it’s my party, I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you

Play all my records, keep dancing all night
But leave me alone for a while
‘Til Johnny’s dancing with me
I’ve got no reason to smile

Ooh, it’s my party, I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you

Judy and Johnny just walked through the door
Like a queen with her king
Oh, what a birthday surprise
Judy’s wearing his ring

Ooh, it’s my party, I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you

Ooh, it’s my party, I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, ooh, aah, ooh
You would cry too if it happened to you
