A child off playing

i take my husband's hand

he pulled us to the dirt when

i dressed my best for him

and shushed my mouth for laughing

two gentle fingers pressed

my lips the moment

he fakes a straight face

he turns to either children

i promised him a few

and this lights him right up

and i am frightened
