About this Album:

this album is deffinatly gnarly beyond reason it does have something missing though. i mean i love SLASH he's the best active guitarist today and did great on this album. Duff also hauled out the big guns for italong with matt. Kushner though is good and did good isn't needed(except for playing rhythms over SLASH's solos). and scot does awsome vocally. but it just kinda seems like their a little bored on stage. there's chemistry between SLASH, Duff, and Matt but Kushner and Scot are somewhere else. i guess what i'm getting at is that it's a great album and real taste of rock especially for the hip-hop driven world of today but it's not the gun's we all know and love. but maybe it's just the fact they've been through so much and just gettin goin again. this album like i said is awsome and if they stick around now that they know each other better this next one should be insane. until then my favorite songs off "contraband" are: #3-big machine,#6-fall to peices, #7-headspace, #8-superhuman, and #11-slither. check those out if you get it

13 track, all very good. Slash is awesome. lyrics are pretty strange for a couple songs.

Overall a great album. you should buy it.

velvet revolver's contraband is an exelent example of musical genious. in the music you can definately hear some guns n roses influnence and some stone temple piolots influence but over all it is a completely new sound. its got 13 tracks that all rock equally as good. dave kushner and slash sound really good togheter and with duff makagan and matt sourum add a real guns n roses feel and with scott weiland on vocals gives it a completely origional sound. it takes a while getting used to not hearing axl rose's amazing rock voice but after you get used to it you wont even care that its a new singer.

My i really like velvet revolver and hope they do good. I hope they stay togheter for longer than guns n roses (unless of course they breakup to rejoin gnr). The new sound is really good. I think it is the best cd to come out since ac/dc's stiff upper lip. But thats just my biased opinion because i really like guns n roses
