---------------------------------------------------------- Submitted by Geir Nyborg to about-townes@listbox.com ---------------------------------------------------------- I've been playing this in two diffrent ways, and I settled with the easiest way. I'ts a while since I played it, but I think I played it like this: (Em) My days they are the (D) Highwaykind (C) They only (D) come to (Em) leave but the (D) leaving I don't (Em) mind It's the (C) coming (D) that I (Em) cray (D) pour the sun (Em) upon the ground (D) stand to throw a (Bm) shadow (D) watch it grow (Em) into the night and (C) feel the (D) spinning (Em) sky (Em) Time among the (D) pinetrees it (C) felt like (D) breath of (Em) air (D) usely I just walk this (Em) streets and (C) tell (D) myself to (Em) care (D) Sometimes I believe (Em) me (D) sometimes I (C) don't (Bm) hear (D)sometimes the (Em) shape I'm in (C) won't (D) let me (Em) go I (Em) don't know too (D) much for true but my (C) heart knows (D) how to (Em) pine (D) my legs know how to love (Em) someone my (C) voice knows (D) how to (Em) sound (D) shame that It's not (Em) enough (D) shame that it (C) is a (Bm) (D) follow the circle (Em) down (C) where (D) would you (Em) be (Em) You're the only (D) one I want and (C) I've never (D) heard your (Em) name (D) I hope we meet (Em) someday if (C) we don't it's (D) all the (Em) same (D) I'll meet the ones (Em) between us (D) be thinking (C) about (Bm) you (D) and all the places I have (Em) been and (C) why you (D) where not (Em) there #--------------------------------------# Additional Comments by about-townes listmembers: I too am facinated by that song...T played it dropped down 1/2 step.(D flat) it starts in Em, only its on the 5th position. i believe its called Em7, then Em6,C, Em,Dm. it really threw me til i figured out the 1/2 step drop down...i love that song? jeepfleet #--------------------------------------# On the Townes Tribute, JT played it with the Capo on the second fret and in Dm... He played the "B" chord just like an "A" on the second fret up from the Capo. See the chords below.. From memory...(I haven't tried to play it...) I think these chords are pretty close, thanks Gier!....db
