As a huge fan of the offspring, Splinter was a good album, BUT didn't live up to it's very much anticipated release. Splinter was the groups first studio album since 2000's "Conspiracy Of One". This album does however give die hard fans some relieve. Songs like "The Noose", "Lightning Rod", "Never Gonna Find Me", and "Race Against Myself" offer a similar sound and taste of the classic 94' "Smash" album. The Offspring kept too their rootes but also added a few different sounds and instruments in their songs (ex: Hit That). This album is overall a good attempt for a comeback. On the otherhand, waiting 3 years for an album that barely made the 30-minute mark can be kind of dissapointing. Oh well, perhaps the band's greatest hits album will be awesome in the summer of 2005. SPLINTER: 6/10
