I took this chance to write a message
     F# E
It's just to say that I'll miss you

B A G#
and sometimes we don't come through
    A G#

but I know with you I've
A G# BBBBE
never seen the devil's eye

The Go-betweens were one of the most underrated bands ever; saddly,
they broke up in 1990

RIP 79-90

I disagree with a fair bit of this. I think the verse chords are E and a variation of F#m. The F#m chord has open high E and B strings. The G string is fingered on the second fret (A), while the D string and A string are both fingered on the fourth frets (F# and C# respectively).
I don't think there's a B chord at the start of the chorus. Instead its G#m. The chords for this bit are G#m,A,G#m,A,G#m,A,G#m,B,A,B,A, and then back to the verse. The B and A chords in the chorus are, I think, bar chords with the open E and B strings. Grant McLennan uses chords like these with open strings quite often.
