How Could You Want Him
(When You know you could have me)
By Spin Doctors
Transcribed by Beau Roberts

Notes:
This transcription, although not perfect or totally complete, should be
pretty accurate for all of the main parts of the song and should get you
up and running on this song pretty quickly.
The rhythm and timing of the chorus and verse parts are very tricky so
you'll have to practice along with the CD to get it.
Also I have transcribed the verse rhythm guitar using the chord positions
that Eric Shenkman uses but there are other positions that you can play it
at. Try playing the G barr chord at the 10th fret. If you then lift up the
barr and fret the 12th fret at the D string and the 11th fret at the G
string you'll have the D chord. Then if you throw your pinky onto the 13th
fret of the B string while playing the G barr chord you'll get the Gsus4.

The guitar solo is based on a Gstring drone pattern. So for each note in
the melody you fret the note and then pulloff to the open G string and
then play the open G one more time.
Like this: 2(P)0-0.

In the outro pattern you simply let the G chord ring then play the little
melody , then finish with the end part of the verse guitar part. This
repeats a bunch of times.

I'm quite contented to take my chances

Against the Gildensterns and Rosencrantzes

It's a matter of Cain and Able

And I can feel your knee, underneath the table

Bridge:
D Am G
Ferrocious angels send me falling stars
       D Am F
But I know just how dangerous wishes are
D Am G
Ferrocious angels watch me come and go
             D Am F
But I'm not too smart to go barging off a rooftop though, no
