It's like people have never thought of dreaming

I don't know how many dreams come true in a year

Not as many as we'd like to hear

When the children say “hey hey hey what about me?”

When you're done school you say “hey hey what about me?”

When you're married you say “hey hey what about me?”

Well what about you?

Were you waiting on someone too?

Do you blame it on yourself, or someone else?

So I had enough of my indecision

I tried to crawl to the door

My reasons pin me to the floor

I'm too busy working for the man

I'm too simple to formulate a plan

When you're sick you say “hey hey hey what about me?”

When you're better you say “hey hey what about me?”

When your children grow up you say “hey hey what about me?”

When you're old you say “hey hey what about me?”

Dreams don't make dreams come true

And remember God is watching us and everything we do
