For promised shelter and for aid, 
I left my son, gave up my throne,
unaware of being betrayed,
There’s no one left to call my own ….

I do not claim to understand, 
laws I’ve never seen,
I dispute the court of a foreign land,
I ‘m still a queen….

answer my plea;
I beg you, my saviour,
to let me - be free.

Chained and imprisoned,
faithful to thee,
In weakness I’m crying,
for now’s the time to liberate me !

I cannot walk without assistance, 
Commands are no more mine to give. 
My faith kept safely at a distance, 
I’ve just a few more days to live !

I do not desire vengeance,
for Judith’s sword I’ve seen.
