Nirvana - Man Who Sold The World lyrics

Your rating:

Well, about 15 different versions of the lyrics to this song are on the
net, but none of them seem to get it right. So, after comparing the
various versions of lyrics with the actual song, I have come up with a
99.9% accurate version of the words actually spoken by Kurt Cobain live
in New York. Since he, unfortunately isn't in this world anymore, this
will probably be the most accurate version around.

So here it is:

The Man Who Sold the World
Nirvana (Original version by David Bowie)
Unplugged in New York

We passed upon the stair
And spoke in was and when.
Although I wasn't there,
He said I was his friend,
Which came as a surprise.
I spoke into his eyes:
"I thought you died alone,
A long, long time ago."

"Oh no, not me,
We never lost control.
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world."

I laughed and shook his hand,
'N' made my way back home.
I searched far for the land,
For years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazeless stare
I marched a million years - (the only iffy part, the word "marched" may not be 100% accurate, but it's very hard to understand so throw me a frickin' bone here!)
I must have died alone,
A long, long time ago.

Who knows? Not me.
I never lost control.
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world.

Who knows? Not me.
We never lost control.
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world.
