Whoo Kid called 50 and told him Michael had a song he wanted him to hear and that he thought it would be perfect for them to collaborate on. 50 Cent, whose swagger is legendary, says he rarely gets nervous around stars, but that he was while talking to Jackson. "Mike is special. He's different. I don't know how to explain it," 50 says of the conversation. Sometime after Michael Jackson's death, 50 Cent got a call from producer Teddy Riley who had worked on Jackson's Dangerous album and was helping to put together the material for this new album. They got together and 50 heard the song for the first time and was excited. He felt it was like a 2010 version of "Thriller." 50 Cent says he wishes he had the chance to work in the studio with Jackson because he was a legend. He goes on to say that he wanted to make the song special and bring something more to it. He changed up his trademark cadence so he sounds different and fits in well with the track. He says he was adjusting to the production.
