    A E			    A	   E	  A
	Been living in the city too long now
      E			    B7	     E
	Even my lungs have started to groan
    A E		      A		  E	  A
	Everybody is singing their own song
      E			B7	    E
	Sometimes I want to sing alone

    E A		      E
	Never been a prima donna
	   A				E	   B7

	Take me where the sun won't shine on me
      A			  E		  B7
	Take me where my conscience won't go now
      E			   A
	Take me where the sun won't shine - on me
	C#m		   A		     B7		      E
	Don't tell me I'm backing out 'cause I don't want to know
	C#m		   A		     B7		      E
	Don't tell me I'm backing out 'cause I don't want to know

    A E        A   E   A E     B7   E
    A E        A   E   A E     B7   E

    A E			      A		E	 A
	Everyone around this town is so angry now
      E				     B7	   E
	Blaring horns and swearing; shaking fists
    A E			     A		 E     A
	If everybody in the world was a hit man
      E				      B7	 E
	We'd wipe each other off each other's hit lists

    E A			 E
	Who wants to stand and be counted
	   A				  E		B7    B7
	Or anger every man until there's lines on your face, now
      E				A
	I don't want to be the one to start the shouting
	    C#m		    A	     B7		E
	I'm part of this society and I know my place

      A			  E
	Take me where the sun won't shine on me
      A			  E		  B7
	Take me where my conscience won't go now
      E			   A
	Take me where the sun won't shine - on me
	C#m		   A	 	     B7		      E
	Don't tell me I'm backing out 'cause I don't want to know
	C#m		   A		     B7		      E
	Don't tell me I'm backing out 'cause I don't want to know

    A E
	Everything around this town is so boring

	Well nothing changes; Nothing doesn't stay the same
    A E
	Ten years when we had high ideals

	We couldn't wait to play the protest game

    E A			      E
	But now we have our thing together
    E A				       E      B7(sus4)
	Our brand new leathers, three bank accounts
      E			     A
	Who cares about the starving millions
	 C#m	    A		    B7		 E
	We're just happy that our cheques don't bounce

      A			  E
	Take me where the sun won't shine on me
      A			  E		  B7
	Take me where my conscience won't go now
      E			   A
	Take me where the sun won't shine - on me
	C#m		   A		     B7		      E
	Don't tell me I'm backing out 'cause I don't want to know
	C#m		   A		     B7		      E
	Don't tell me I'm backing out 'cause I don't want to ...
	    C#m		       A		 B7		  E
	No, Don't tell me I'm backing out 'cause I don't want to know

    A E        A   E   A E     B7   E

Notes
~~~~~
1. I'm not too sure about the lyrics (thanks to Alan Pulliam for supplying
   them, BTW).  I had completely the wrong idea originally in a few places
   and I've listened carefully and made one or two minor changes to  them,
   but I'm still unsure of a few bits:
	Stop the madness scene before it drives me insane
		 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
	Or anger every man until there's lines on your face, now
	   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
				 ^especially this bit^
	Our brand new leathers, three bank accounts
		      ^^^^^^^^
			Here, Alan reckons it's probably `Lotus'
3. ***** I will be posting all Wes tabs/crds that I do in future  to *****
   ***** the newsgroup rec.music.makers.guitar.tablature since  some *****
   ***** hosts do not receive any of the `alt' groups.		     *****
4. The licks in this song are pretty easy, so I haven't included  them  in
   the CRD.
