So, jimmy eat worlds last cd "bleed american" (later re-named as a self titled due to the events of 9/11) finishes playing in your cd player, the last chords of "my sundown" slowly fade out and you're moved to tears (just admit it) by Jim Adkins heart wrenching goodbye to all he holds dear "say my goodbyes, this is my sundown, im gonna be so much more than this". Next thing you know, you're on the jimmyeatworld forums begging them for a follow up. So lets review, you're the hottest new emo band on the planet, your fans are scratching their skin with anticipation for a follow up, you have more musicial talent in your left thumb than half the emo population so wat do you do??.....take two years off???
Well thats exactly what jimmy eat world did. And if "futures" is anything to go by, it damn well payed off. Fans of the band will adore them even more (if possible) and this may even manage to convert afew skeptics. Every single track is fantastic. Even "drugs or me" that at times seems like its going to burst into a cover of the vereves "the drugs dont work". There isnt a skippable track here.
In short, this is the album jimmy eat world have been threatening to unleash their entire career.
