When I was about to be born
I asked the Lord a few questions
How am I going to live on earth
Being so helpless at birth

He said, I have chosen an angel
Who takes care of babies so well
Who sing and smile at you everyday
Who will be patient and love you in every way

And you will call her Mother
And I would call her mother. Is that her real name?
My Child, the name really doesn't matter
For when you cry you'll see that she will be there

How am I going to understand the language that speak to me?
Your angel will teach you sweet words,
Much sweeter than the songs of the birds
And when you want to talk to me
Your angel will put your hands together
And teach you a beautiful prayer

And you will call her Mother

I heard on earth there are bad men
Who will protect me from them?
Your angel will be your defender
Though she's use, so fragile and tender
She put risk life for you like nobody else would do

And now I am a mother
