Jacob Lee - Zen

Your rating:
I have known since I was young that I could separate myself
Trace along a synapse in my brain and take on someone else
Peek into a life that I have never known and tell their tales
Reach in my pockets with nothing but consciousness I tend to

Sit upon my hands until my heart achieves a state of zen
Scribble out my ego, pick up empathy and find a pen
Manifesting every word they thought of but they never said, oh
Losing my consciousness in every pocket that I never had

I hope the sacrifice is worth it
Leave my heart inside another person
Always knew that I would find my purpose
Living as a servant, taking on the roles they can’t let go

I hope the sacrifice is worth it
Leave my heart inside another person
Always knew that I would find my purpose
Living in the service, of another soul

I decipher voices in my head that never show their face
Translate all I can before they seem to go their separate ways
Share it with the world and maybe back to where and which it came, oh
Feel like a prophet, with cursory cognizance because I am

Fumbling with sand
Each grain just one of my plans
I don’t know how to be more than I am,
But I hope if I stay right here I’ll understand

I hope the sacrifice is worth it
Leave my heart inside another person
Always knew that I would find my purpose
Living as a servant, taking on the roles they can’t let go

I hope the sacrifice is worth it
Leave my heart inside another person
Always knew that I would find my purpose
Living in the service, of another soul

If you knock once or twice
I’ll invite you to share my design
I’ll let you visit my thoughts
If you stay in your spot
And you never try crossing that line

If I lend you my hand
Would you lend me some time with your mind
I’ll write down all that you want
‘Cause I learn quite a lot
When I live through these lives that aren’t mine

I hope the sacrifice is worth it
Leave my heart inside another person
Always knew that I would find my purpose
As a servant, taking on the roles they can’t let go

I hope the sacrifice is worth it
Leave my heart inside another person
Always knew that I would find my purpose
Living as a servant, taking on the roles they can’t let go

I hope the sacrifice is worth it
Leave my heart inside another person
Always knew that I would find my purpose
Living in the service, of another soul
