About this Album:

Melodic, smooth, yet gritty, Bowie-esque and catchy rock, blues & pop alternative from Cape Town via London and Berlin. Eighteen albums and counting by South Africa's No.1
The 18th studio album release by South Africa’s No.1 vocal sensation and songwriter Ike Moriz sees him returning to his early career British rock and Britpop influences: Besides 10 fresh new Moriz compositions, this 11 track CD also contains a cover of David Bowie’s 70s hit “Golden Years”. The legendary singer repeatedly voted Ike’s early original works (Still, Mirrors and Shade, You Could) as top songs on his website.

The album was recorded at SAMA award nominated Paris Studios in Cape Town. SA music scene veteran and SAMA award winner David Ledbetter as well as chart topper Greg Schoeman of The Sunshines fame joined Ike on lead and rhythm guitars. Supported by up and coming musical talent Jethro Chiddy on drums, the album bursts with enthusiasm, energy and instantly addictive melodies and themes. There is a sense of urgency, hope and anger that flows like a red thread throughout the songs reflecting an artist’s life in the young and politically tumultuous democracy of South Africa.

After returning from last year’s sold out “Love Swings Tour 2016” Moriz will also support this album with a tour: From early July to late September 2017 Ike is bringing the highly anticipated “GOLD RUSH TOUR” to audiences in Germany (German tour website: www.ikemoriz.de) with over a dozen concerts from Hamburg to Berlin during the South African winter. It is an exciting time for the artist as well as his audience as he embarks on this journey with a new style breaking away from his popular swing and jazz albums of the past 5 years (Don’t worry, he will still play his popular swing/pop hits too)!
