Holding it's ground as Green Day's 5th studio album, this album began Green Day's transformation into a more muscially diverse band, with addition of intstruments like the harmonica and trombone. There's no doubt that Good Riddance is their most well known, popular song. And to be honest, back in '97, I was not a Green day fan, and bought this album only for that song. After listening to it for a few days however, I became more interested in Green Day's music and now they are one of my favorite bands. This album has a very balanced popularity, in the sense that it's an album you either love or hate, there's no inbetween for it. Personally, I can listen to 17 out of the 18 songs over and over and not get tired of them. The only song that veers me away is Haushinka, as I just feel it just does not belong on this album, which is ironic being that it was written when Kerplunk! was being made but was never released untill Nimrod. Overall, this is a good album to decide whether or not you like Green Day's sound, and in my opinion is great work by the boys. I give it a 4/5.
