to whom this letter reaches
by the grace of god

from our lord
the shine of fatherly light
illuminating the world

sheltered by the absence of light
with the glories of your falsity
hidden behind the cloak of death
the storm behind the plague
this plague known as god

we consider the indulgence to be
worthwhile and valid
affirmed by the power assigned to us
and our resolute judgment
trusting in the merits
of the blessed apostles peter and paul
we proclaim merciful in the lord to all
who come to the said church for devotion
with regard to penances for forty days
