DOWN WITH LOVE ( from Slow Love ) This arrangement of 'Down With Love' is constructed predominately with right hand quartal harmonies and the 7+9 triad both played over various bass notes. The quartal chords appearing here all are formed with the tonic note at the bottom, followed by two stacked fourths. For example a CQ would be comprised of the notes C-F-Bb. This chord could also be referred to as C7sus4no5, but for purposes of space restriction, referring to it simply with a 'Q' is much simpler. The right hand '7+9' formations that appear in this selection are all formed with the third at the bottom, followed by the seventh, then the augmented ninth again the fifth is omitted. A D7+9 therefore would be formed with the notes F# -C-F. Any 7+9 chord that appears in this selection which has a non-tonic bass note, eg. D7+7/A would be played simply as F#-C-F in the right hand over an A bass note. The D note is then omitted from this chord entirely.
