I took a drive last night 

I turned down our old street

Passed by your old house 

And the front porch where you met me

Knock on the front door 

Can you come outside

Let me ask my momma 

Who looked at me and smiled



In '79 we played outside when it got dark we said goodbye 

In '82 after school I'd walk you home

In '83 gave you a ring out of the coin machine

In a tree, on one knee I knew what you'd say

Man, it seems like yesterday



Well our old highschool looks the same

I miss those Friday football games

And they tore the drive-in down

Where we went on our first date

And then we graduated

Moved on with our lives

Started growin older but didn't realize



In '89 we learned to drive, 12 o clock we said goodbye

In '92 after school I'd drive you home

In '93 we turned 18, I gave you my class ring

In my car where we parked by the river bank

Oh yeah it seems like yesterday



Drving down that road I realize

Ain't it funny how time goes by

Staring out the window watchin our kids play

It wont be long until they say...It seems liek yesterday
