About this Album:

Relaesed in Semtember of 2002 by Reprise records, "Believe" is the follow up to Disturbed's multi-platinum record "The Sickness" and with it they have deep in the depths of metal.

Most people were familier with the Disturbed sound after their 1st singles made it big and this CD has many tracks with that same tight sound that they have as a group. This time they take it up another level continuing with the intense sound and envolving lyrics which hit on the dark side of your thoughts with strong emotional crys from the heart. There is still that distanct groan which can be heard on the introduction of track 6 "Intoxiction". i personally like that sound and would be more than happy to hear it over and over agian throughout an entire song but thats why we have rewind(^_^)

Disturbed wastes no time in kicking off this album with the intense yet melodic"Prayer", followed by the almost-tribal rhythimc sound of "Liberate"> The pounding beats and sore throat choruses on "Awaken" will sound very familiar to those who've heard The Sickness, while the rirle track,"Believe" sees the band heading in a more melodic direction than before.

Believe was less heavier than distubered's previous album, The Sickness, but it was good in its own ways. The album is great because of the very graceful style of the overall sound. Dan Donegan's guitar technique is admireable, not bad for a nu-metal guitarist. There was either keyboard or orchestration on some of the tracks like title track"Believe". The final track "Darkness" is a ballad featuring an acoustic sound, a guest cellist, and piano, and singer David draiman is full-on ballad vocals.Disturbed made quite a ripple in the music world with The Sickness. It was an aldum that was a perfect example of "nu-metal". Angry words, down tuned riffs, harsh electronics, and a crazy lead singer on top of it all, What caused this band to stand apart was the fact that their composition and arrangement skills far exceeded those of the idiots in Korn. Their innate ability to take elements of their influences and forge a somewhat new sound rather than imitate completely was equally commendable.

this is 4 my friend Jeffery

This album I think is the best Disturbed has ever done! The sickness was dark and choppy wich was ok, but this one has a lighter more melodic tone to it. The best tracks on the album are Prayer, Liberate, Awaken, Beleive, Remember(probably the best on the album and the best song they ever done), Rise,Mistress, and Bound. The others are good as well. Dan Donegan has no solos but delievers killer guitar rifts in this one! Daves vocals have improved and are mind blowing and are more calmer than the sickness. The beats are off the wall to!!If you like hard rock but not too hard this album is the one to get!! Disturbed is my favourite band, I've been listening to this album for a year and i have not got tired of it! That's something that is extreamly hard to do,when you listen to a song for a while you get tired of it.......NOT thease guys!!!!!!!!!!!
