She is out of the clinic
She is clean, unhooked and habit-free
Runs upstairs and calls out
'Daddy, Mummy! I'm home, it's me.'

And father vaguely looks her way
'Oh hi kid. ..glad you 're home
Hang on there, the football's nearly through'
And mother waves from the telephone
'It's Aunt Annie dear, be right with you'
And her sister reads and chews some gum.

She is out of the clinic

Turns each tap 'till the water pours
Opens wide all the windows and doors
'Daddy, Mummy! I'm home, it's me.'
