Herman Van Veen
Waterlogged clowns

There go the waterlogged towns in procession
While the people standing by
Wear the blank weatherproof faces
Just to make sure that they stay
warm and dry, miss Baker
Still hides her bumps and bruises
And stress is dressed in style but strained
In the lane
And in the rain
And in the meantime kids are fooling and joking and
soaking their friends and their feet in each puddle and poodle
And mothers are groaning and moaning
And cleaning their clowns up for school

They're out gathering money in to try and end a war
Ticker taping the streets
And raiding the dad, they have more to live
At town before there's a statue
To the famous thief of old
A just reward for stealing
Ancient galleons of gold
And all at once
They burn their eyes in blazing skies
Dogs taking flight as mothers take fright
Dog howls his delight
And heaven gets light in the head
At the sight of of a town without eyes

Thirty ways to boost up
A breast made out of blubber
Rubber and sex on a stick
Stores full of candy clust for living
Pick and take and make yourself sick from a crown
A man yells for his wrestle
And stuffs his passion feast of grease
Down a drain
A train of food is lying around
Birds eating droppings off the ground
The streets wizz and whistles reflect as the city aflood
Each car is a clam going down, going down till he drowns in the mud

There go the waterlogged towns in procession
While the people standing by
Wear the blank weatherproof faces
Just to make sure that they stay
warm and dry, miss Baker
Still hides her bumps and bruises
And stress is dressed in style but strained
In the lane
And in the rain
And in the meantime kids are fooling and joking and
soaking their friends and their feet in each puddle and poodle
And mothers are groaning and moaning
And cleaning their clowns up for school
