Tool - Jimmy Ver 2 bass tab

Song:	Jimmy

Suggested Tuning - DADG

This is my first tab so it might not be spot on - but it's better
than what's already on offer for this song. Don't whine at me if you
don't like the tab coz the reason you're looking at it is probably
because you're too lazy/ignorant to work it out for yourself!

Thanks to Jeremiah Jones for making a start on this song.

I'm pretty sure Justin plays with a pick and uses a chorus on parts
of this song. You obviously don't have to use either but if you want
to sound just like the song then that's what you'll need - as well as
distortion.

Intro - Bass comes in at 0:10

Repeat x4

G-I--------------------------------------
D-I--------------------------------------
A-I-5-----------5-----------5----------3-
D-I---0-0-5-3-----0-0-3-5-----0-0---1----

Verse - 0:29
--Play same as above

Prechorus / Fill

G-I-------------------
D-I-------------------
A-I-------------------
D-I-0--10--12--0--12b-
		   *
*For this note you need to either bend 1/2 a step or vibrato,
whichever you think sounds better.

Variation - Play without the open D notes
Another variation sounds like the same as above with distortion

Verse 2
Play the same as verse 1
During this verse there's a fill that I'm not sure about but it has
a few slides in it, possibly up to 10th fret on the low D string.

1:52
Same as intro / verse

Bridge 1 - 2:26

			2nd Part
G-I---------------------I----------
D-I---------------------I----------
A-I--5-----------3-3----I----------
D-I----0--7--0----------I-7-5--3-5-

Bridge - 2:41
*Played with distortion
Not sure about this bit, the distortion makes it hard to figure out

G-I----------------------
D-I----------------------
A-I---------3-5----------
D-I-0-0---0-----0-5b--0-0-

I'm sure there are variations on this part but this is a start

2:52
Quiet bit
I don't know whether this is the guitar or not, but I'm sure I can
hear the guitar playing palm-muted so I'm pretty sure it's the bass,
possibly playing with a chorus effect.

G-I---5-7---7b- I-------------------
D-I-0-----0---- OR I-0--10--12--0--12b-
A-I------------ I-------------------
D-I------------ I-------------------

Personally I think the first one sounds best

Next bit I'm not sure about, possibly the same thing but an octave
lover on the lov D

Strange bit - 3:56

Not sure about it but this is my best guess - not sure about rhythm

G-I-8-10--10--10----6--8-8-88---6--5-5-55-
D-I---------------------------------------
A-I---------------------------------------
D-I---------------------------------------

Part 2 of this is something similar but on the A string -
not sure quite what is being played but I'm almost certain about
the start.

G-I------------------------------
D-I------------------------------
A-I-6/8--8-8-8/10--11--11/10-/8--
D-I------------------------------

These are all the parts of the song I have worked out so far, it's
better than what was on to start with so I hope it's of some help to
somebody.

Enjoy
