MAY IT BE

>From the 2001 film, _The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring_. and
the soundtrack album (Warner Bros, ASIN B00005QZWI). Composed and performed
by Enya (http://www.enya.com). Lyrics by Roma Ryan. Guitar chord
interpretation by Richard J Kinch , December 2001. Key of
F#m modulating to A. Use capo 2 on guitar to play from Em and G. The low,
modest melody should be within the range of most any female or male voice. The
key is also suitable for a D pennywhistle. This transcription is my own
scholarly work and represents my interpretation of the song.

[This simple Celtic-style tune is a touching expression of the farewell at the
breaking of the company at the end of the _Fellowship of the Ring_, and sets
forth the concerns and manifest hopes of all for the ring bearer, ending on an
unresolved major third to evoke the unfinished yet promising remnant of the
story. I find it also a fitting lullaby.--RK]
