it took me that day, on the hill
in the rain, to see
life is but a storm away

that day we both felt
like we never felt before
and our petty arguments
came crashing to the floor
and we hugged ourselves and prayed that
we'd live to see the night
the day we fell asleep in your arms

i don't ever pray
except for that day
and the temple on the hill
couldn't offer us anything
