volgens mij lezen jullie de songtekst verkeerd.
Er staat lettelijk if i could only start to take care.
Met andere woorden, niet zij moet er iets om geven, maar hij.

Dus wellicht is het op een andere manier. Een relatie die op de klippen loopt, tegen het eind loopt.
En dat ze erachter komen dat ze eigenlijk niets van elkaar weten ( figuurlijk gezien).
Hetis maar hoe je het bekijkt.

Al vind ik de versie met een onbereikbare liefde toch mooier :smiley:.

het gaat over een onderhuidse liefde die een anderleven begint teleiden zodra de tegenparty maar in de beurt komt en je zelf er een beetje bang van deze 100% love fot the other

Hoezo niet duidelijk,
het gaat over een verliefdheid, een geheime liefde.
Hij zingt over een meisje die hij leuk vind, maar zij weet niet wie hij is.

Dit is een mooi voorbeeld van een mooi gezongen liedje met een vage tekst. Maar ook als deze man 'dumpie-dumpie-dum' zou zingen zou het al mooi kunnen klinken. Wat een stem! Echter: startende liefdes tarten altijd de grenzen van taal, dus daar is het dan juist wel weer een mooie uitdrukking van! Liever een dappere muzikale poging dat te pakken dan een poezieloos rationalisme.
